Art Therapy

When words are not enough, art therapy becomes an option to communicate thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe, therapeutic space. Art therapy provides a place to contain traumatic experiences in ones artwork so an individual no longer has to carry around unpleasant experiences. Art therapy is also a way to fully process experiences for visual or kinesthetic individuals. The art therapist offers guidance to the client throughout the process and encourages insight through art-making, resulting in:

  • increased confidence
  • self-expression
  • self-acceptance
  • reduced anxiety
  • self-discovery
